In 2025 Meitler was invited to assist Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School (BMCHS) in creating a strategic plan for their school. The school’s leadership recognized the importance of the planning process as enrollment was growing and the educational landscape was shifting not only in Oklahoma City but across the United States. BMCHS is known for its strong academic program and has a robust list of Advanced Placement courses to better prepare students for the rigor of their post-secondary endeavors. As in the case of most schools, BMCHS was experiencing some growing pains:
- The school leadership was new.
- The needs of the students served have expanded.
- The school, while already committed to a safe and secure campus, wanted to ensure this remained the case for the future.
Both the President and the Principal of the school were aware of these growing pains. They worked collaboratively with Meitler’s consulting team to create a strategic plan to address those areas in need of growth, as well as to advance the many ways in which BMCHS was meeting and exceeding excellence in a variety of areas of school life.
Over the course of seven months, the team from Meitler partnered closely with the school’s leadership and a dedicated planning team to develop a five-year strategic plan that sets a clear direction for the future.
To address the growing pain of increased student needs, the strategic plan set a goal for BMCHS to expand the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) to meet this growing population and to ensure data informs student learning at all levels. The plan will also guide the school in providing school-wide, ongoing, targeted professional development to assist the faculty in meeting a wider range of student learning needs. The planning team also identified the additional step of developing ongoing accountability measures the administration can utilize as it assesses the implementation and effectiveness of SAS moving forward.
When asked on a scale of 0-10 (with 10 being most likely) how likely the school’s leadership would be to recommend Meitler to a diocese, parish, or school, the response was a 10. Why such a glowing rating? The principal of BMCHS noted Meitler’s data informed approach as well as the consistent, dependable, and focused guidance the Meitler team was able to provide to the school.
