Senior Consultant
Rick Pendergast believes in Catholic education and is dedicating his second career to helping sustain it for the next generation. With 33 years of experience in Catholic secondary education as an English teacher, as a Chief Financial Officer and finally as the Principal of a large, urban co-ed Catholic high school, Rick understands the ins and outs of Catholic school life. He has a particular interest in enrollment management and crafting the marketing for schools. He also believes that understanding school finances is essential to creating overall school excellence. Throughout his 14 years at Meitler, he most appreciates the opportunities to work with Catholic schools all over the USA, in small towns and in big cities, to improve the experience for students and their parents.
Rick has also chosen to share his experience with others through numerous presentations at national conferences such as ASCD and NCEA, workshops with schools and dioceses and writing articles for Momentum Magazine.
In his free time, Rick enjoys babysitting for his three grandchildren and, when they are with their parents, reading, or working in his yard.
Did you know? Rick started college as a forestry major. Though he took a different path, he is still drawn to deep woods experiences.
